MILLIONS shine out from the crowd, more melodic than the garage punks, more psychedelic than the Hoxton hipsters, more vital than the shoe gazing throng; Millions paid their gigging dues on the sweltering Australian circuit and have sprung onto the UK scene as fresh, tight and compelling newcomers.
Formed in Brisbane, Australia, the four-piece are a unique garage pop rock outfit that specialize on strong song-writing as well as charismatic performances; two of the group are sons of South London's finest Glenn Tilbrook, singer/song writer of Squeeze.
MILLIONS make their U.K debut on Well Suspect Records with a limited edition, seven inch vinyl, four track E.P. called 'Let It Go', scheduled for release on June 9th 2017. An early 'preview' track has been released a month early as a taster, presumably to booster a run of shows and festival appearances leading up to the vinyl release (details here). The track in question is as smouldering, electric piano driven, mini-masterpiece entitled BABY BOY, which features band drummer Louis Tilbrook on the keyboards, and Ted Tilbrook (normally group lead guitarist) behind the kit. The Vocals, which are reminiscent of early T-Rex period Bolan, are handled by Dom Haddad. On bass guitar is the band neat-nik, Campbell Roberts.
Available now digitally from Well Suspect Records, Baby Boy is an impressive and ambitious debut from a band obviously on route to the big league.
